What: This week I made a poem about the book I was reading; holes.  We have activities to do for novel study. This is my poem. ‘When your out in the baking hot sun, you see shade and you want to run. But you can’t; your feet are stuck to the ground. Slowly your head spins round and round. Holes spread for miles on end. For a long, long time there is no bend. Your thirst gets greater and greater. The warden comes past you absolutely hate her. She has frizzy red hair. Which makes quite a glare. In this deadly dangerous place’.

So What: This week I learnt that in order to have a good poem you need a steady beat.

Now What: Now I want to focus on getting my mobile done and dusted!

So What: I have learnt how to make a mobile. You first get 2 sticks and cross them over to make a plus sign. Tie them together and dangle strings from the ends. Make some pictures and attach them to the strings. And there you go!

Now What: Now I want to focus on getting my novel study activities done and dusted!

What: On Friday we made some 3D snowflakes. First we cut up 6 coloured pieces of paper into squares. Then we folded them twice so they were mini triangles and we made marks at 2cm, 4cm and 6cm. Do that on the folded side and the open side. Then connect the 2 marks together. Cut slits along the lines but leave a little bit at the end. Do that with all 6. Then you unfold them and connect the 2 corners of the square in the middle on top and you keep doing that with all of the flaps on that piece but make sure it goes top, bottom ect. Repeat with all 6. Then staple 3 together at the bottom and do the same with the other three. Connect them in the middle. DONE!!! Here is a picture of it finished.

My goal for this term is to work on catching and passing skills for touch. When catching the ball especia

lly I need to get under it. And I want to learn to do spin passes.

I have chosen this because I’m joining the touch team for school and I need to be more confident with the ball.

To achieve my goal I need to practise at home with my brother and my dad.

My goal for this term is to get better at my fractions.

I have chosen this because I will need these skills when I am a Ross Intermediate next year.

To achieve my goal I need to use my brain and work hard at it in school. And use some of my extension time to work on them.

What: This week, on Thursday we performed our production in front of over 700 people! The butterflies in my stomach flapped like crazy! My part was the cricket which inspired the Giraffe to dance. I was really nervous when I was on stage under the spotlight, because just imagine 700 pairs of eyes starring at you…creepy. We had more people than ever before turn up.

So What: I learnt that our old teacher Nick was watching and he was very happy with our performance. He said we improved 100% more than all of our practices put together. I was so glad to see him even though he had left just last Friday!

Now What: Now I want to focus on improving my performance and get better at performing in front of a big crowd.
